  Cruise ship arrives in Danang after 3 days at storm shelter

The five-star cruise ship, Silver Cloud, and its 300 tourists safely arrived at a Da Nang city port Nov. 27 after stopping three days at a storm shelter on Spratly Islands, said tourist company Tan Hong

The cruise, coming from Nassau-Bahamas, had to stop at Spratly Island off of central Khanh Hoa province for three days due to a severe regional storm, said the company.

According to Italian captain Macarone Palmeri Michelle, the cruise could not land at its schedule Vung Tau port destination. The ship finally arrived in Da Nang city after also being anchored at a Nha Trang port for four hours.

In related news, another cruise ship operated by the Silversea Corporation will arrive at Da Nang's Tien Sa port on Dec. 4.

The ship is reportedly carrying a 57-year-old female tourist Monica Kretz, who set a record for being on board the ship for three months. According to a source, Ms. Kretz was awarded with a free visit to Da Nang city and Hoi An ancient town for her record.
