Morning, 23 August, Chairman of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province Tran Minh Sanh had a meeting with Mr. Ho Su Jeong, CEO of Saigon International Terminals Vietnam Co., Ltd. (SITV), which is building a seaport at Tan Thanh district.
At the working session, Mr. Ho Su Jeong said construction project of SITV Port in Tan Thanh district has made more than 70% of the total investment of US$267 million. Mr. Ho Su Jeong proposed the province to support and assist in dredging and expanding channels; accelerating progress of inter-port road construction, developing human resources to serve port services and ensuring power source for operations.
Mr.Tran Minh Sanh highly appreciated the investment capacity of SITV port, at the same time stated Ba Ria - Vung Tau would have some priorities on electricity for seaports. On human resources for the port, Mr.Tran Minh Sanh would like to draw attention that investors should have specific plans for training and prioritize use of local resources.
Also at the meeting, representatives of Saigon - Vietnam International Port said the port would, on 24 August, welcome the first Japanese cargo ship called the Mol Paramount with 293m length and 5600 TEU of load. Reportedly, SITV port is a container port, with the total investment of US$267,000, a 33.7 ha area and total quay length of 730m, capacity of 1.1 million TEU. It is expected to complete the whole project in early 2011.
