Australia helps build sheltering port in central province

Construction on a sheltering port with funds from the Australian Government started in the central Vietnam province of Quang Ngai on April 30.

The Australian Government will contribute 24.7 billion VND (1.5 million USD) in non-refundable aid to the 37.25 billion VND (2.3 million USD) project, which will provide logistical services as well as safe shelter during storms for about 350 fishing vessels in the province.

The port will be operational in March 2006.
