A commercial port, an industrial production zone, a service and trade area and a trade promotion area are to be established in the Chu Lai OEZ's non-tariff area, said Nguyen Xuan Phuc, chairman of Quang Nam Peoples Committee.

The commercial port, together with another existing port in the zone, would facilitate trade between the region and Laos, Mr. Phuc said.

The trade promotion area would have subdivisions where import and export activities would be carried out, import-export warehouses and a retail supermarket, he said.

Meanwhile, product classification and packaging are to be carried out in the services and trade area, he said, adding infrastructure facilities for telecom, financial, banking, insurance services and others would be set up in this area, he said.
