  VN, China strengthen bilateral linkages

On the threshold of the 4th meeting of the Steering Committee for Việt Nam-China Bilateral Cooperation, Deputy PM, FM Phạm Gia Khiêm on June 30 in Tianjin, China, met with Chinese FM Yang Jiechi and Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo.

Both Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm and Chinese FM Yang Jiechi took this occasion to exchange ways for better bilateral linkages, including the closer coordination between the two Foreign Ministries.

Earlier, during his meeting with Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo, Deputy PM Khiêm expressed the aspiration that the Chinese city would foster ties with its Vietnamese sister city of Hải Pḥng while strengthening linkages with Hồ Chí Minh City and the central city of Đà Nẵng.

Việt Nam seeks to learn more experience from Tianjin, one of the top 10 best competitive cities in China, in such fields as planning and management of sea ports, hi-tech development, production of wind power, and education and training, said Mr. Khiêm.

During his trip to the Northeastern Chinese city, the Vietnamese Deputy PM went to see the Tianjin Urban Planning Museum, Jinwan Square and the Airbus Tianjin factory.
