Rice Export May Exceed 3.5 Million Tonnes
"If the world's market still has a vast demand for rice, and the export price is high, Vietnam can increase its rice export volume to raise farmers' incomes," says deputy head of the Agricultural Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) Phan Huy Thong. Mr Thong assumes that the food security will not be affected if Vietnam manages to exceed its rice export target of 3.5 million tonnes this year.
