Security management ISPS Ship and Port Practical Packs – a management systems approach to the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.

The ISPS Ship and Port Practical Packs provide the tools necessary to adopt a management systems approach in developing ship and port security plans and defining management responsibilities under the International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS) Code. This is achieved through adopting practical approaches, concepts and continuous improvement.

Preparing your security management system to help ensure security and safety
The ISPS Code requires that you plan and manage the security of your vessels. Security assessments, security plans, training, exercises, and the documentation of your security regime will require careful consideration. Lloyd’s Register recognises that a management systems approach is the best way to help ensure that your security systems are comprehensive, practical, meaningful and in compliance with the ISPS Code. Lloyd’s Register understands the complexities of security planning and all that it involves, and provides ship and port practical packs to help you achieve the finest security management - see downloads on the right. The ISPS Ship Practical Pack is a comprehensive approach to creating an effective security system and encouraging a culture of security on board your vessels and within your company. The ISPS Port Practical Pack provides effective security planning for port and port facility owners and operators seeking compliance with the ISPS Code. Our practical packs are built upon years of management systems experience. It is a comprehensive ISPS Code primer and management system builder that takes in the mandatory elements of the Code.
