ISPS CODE

The dead line of 1 July 2004 for ISPS Code compliance is drawing nearer. Ports are to tackle with many issues and difficulties anticipated for meeting the IMO ISPS Code requirements.

VPA has set up this page to provide member ports with some information and documents thus assisting them in the implementation of the ISPS Code. Discussion and collaboration for the above amongst member ports and between member ports with VPA and relevant authorities is also invited to share experience and knowledge and to facilitate the tasks of ISPS compliance.

Steps to ISPS Compliance

What to tell IMO by 30 June 2004

  • Details of compliant port facilities
  • ISPS communication arrangements

  • After that any changes to arrangements
    will also need to approve IPSC
