Vung Ang port wharf No 3 project breaks ground

Ha Tinh Minerals and Trading Corporation and the Viet Nam-Laos Vung Ang Port Joint Stock Company co-organized a groundbreaking ceremony for Vung Ang port wharf No 3 project at Vung Ang economic zone in the central Ha Tinh province on September 22.
Vung Ang port wharf No 3 project reached nearly VND 1, 000 billion in total investment capital. It covered 8, 760 square meter container terminal with modern infrastructure technology.

Earlier, Vung Ang port wharf No 1 has been in completion period and started operating in 2001; and deep- water wharf No 2 project was exploited in 2010.

In the 2012- 2014 period, the Vung Ang port received cargo capacity increasing nearly 3 million tons.

In upcoming years, cargo capacity is predicted to increase around 30 – 40 percents a year, and will be reached over 6 million tons by 2020.

Vung Ang port wharf No 3 was established together with projects of wharf No 1 and No 2 to meet the cargo transportation demands of the region by waterway as well as to ensure national maritime safety.
