December 23, 2025 – SSIT proudly announces the successful berthing of the vessel MSC BREMERHAVEN, marking the inaugural call of “Sambar”, a new Intra-Asia service launched by MSC, the world’s largest container carrier.
The Sambar service is a newly established route connecting China, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, and Malaysia, designed to enhance logistics efficiency across Asia. This service provides faster and more flexible transportation solutions between major logistics hubs in East and Southeast Asia. By choosing Cai Mep as a key destination, MSC strengthens regional trade flows, supports Vietnam’s rapidly growing import–export demand, and improves global connectivity while optimizing logistics costs.
MSC’s decision to select SSIT as one of the primary terminals for the Sambar service reflects our operational reliability, the professionalism of our workforce, and the strategic vision of SSIT’s leadership. Mr. Phan Hoang Vu – General Director of SSIT, shared: “Successfully welcoming the MSC BREMERHAVEN marks another milestone for SSIT in expanding our logistics capacity. We are truly grateful for the trust extended by MSC – particularly Mr. Benoit De Quillacq, MSC Vietnam’s Managing Director, and the entire MSC team for their cooperation in ensuring the safe berthing and handling of the Sambar service’s voyages. The launch of the Sambar service is not only a testament to our customers’ confidence but also highlights SSIT’s world-class operational capabilities and service excellence. This event opens the door to long-term strategic collaboration and contributes to the development of trade in the Cai Mep region and Vietnam’s seaport network.”
SSIT also extends sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Maritime and Inland Waterways Administration, the Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Administration, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and all relevant authorities and agencies for their continued support during the implementation and operation of our new services.
