After 30 years of development, the Vietnam Seaports Association (VPA) has officially launched a policy to expand its associate membership to logistics enterprises, inland container depots (ICDs), river ports, and research, consulting and training institutions operating in the port and logistics sector.
Mr. Nguyễn Xuân Kỳ, Secretary General of VPA, stated that this expansion represents a strategic step forward — shifting from developing individual links to building an integrated ecosystem — with the aim of enhancing national competitiveness amid the ongoing restructuring of global supply chains.
The policy seeks to strengthen connectivity between seaports and domestic logistics networks, promote digital transformation, green transformation and standardization across the transport chain, and foster a stronger collective voice in policy development.
VPA reaffirms that seaport enterprises remain the core of the Association, and that membership expansion is intended to further reinforce the central role of seaports within Vietnam’s logistics ecosystem.
