According to the latest Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) 2025, two of Vietnam’s key gateway ports – Cai Mep Port Cluster and Hai Phong Port – have both secured positions among the world’s Top 20 best-performing container ports.
Cai Mep ranked 11th globally, while Hai Phong followed closely at 13th, with both ports achieving the same performance score – a strong testament to their operational efficiency.

These achievements reflect Vietnam’s enhanced port efficiency and competitiveness, supported by modernization, digital transformation, and strong stakeholder collaboration.
Notably, Hai Phong Port has emerged as one of the most improved ports globally, significantly increasing its performance score over the past five years and reinforcing its role as a key logistics hub in Northern Vietnam and regional supply chains.
The Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) is an annual index published by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence, assessing the operational performance of more than 400 container ports worldwide based on vessel turnaround time and handling efficiency.
