The Vietnam Maritime and Waterways Administration (VIMAWA), the Vietnam Seaports Association (VPA), and Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) joined an online meeting with the APSN Secretariat, APSN Council, and representatives of member economies to prepare for the 2026 APEC Port Services Network (APSN) events. The meeting was held to discuss preparations for the APSN Forum 2026, APSN Council Meeting, and related events to be held in Vietnam in November 2026.
APSN is a port cooperation network under APEC, established to strengthen cooperation among government agencies, port associations, and port enterprises of member economies. Through its annual Forum and Council Meeting, APSN provides a platform to exchange experience, share practices, discuss new trends, and promote cooperation in port and port service development.
At the meeting, participants discussed the organizational requirements under APEC regulations and reviewed the preparation plan for the APSN 2026 events in Vietnam, including the schedule, venue, program, logistics, and key milestones.
VIMAWA is Vietnam’s focal agency, responsible for overall coordination and working with the APSN Secretariat during the preparation process and required procedures. VPA and SNP are coordinating partners, responsible for program preparation, delegate coordination, communications, logistics, exhibitions, technical visits, and technical activities. The parties agreed to work closely to ensure the preparation is on schedule and meets APSN requirements.
The event series is expected to be held over five days, from 23โ27 November 2026, at Pullman Vung Tau Hotel โ Ho Chi Minh City, with a technical visit to the Cai Mep port area to introduce Vietnam’s port development experience and practices to international delegates.
